A full maternity session lasts approx. 60-90 minutes. We'll schedule it during the sunset hours to utilise that soft, dreamy light. During the session, I'll guide and prompt you into poses that flatter you and beautifully showcase your gorgeous bump. We'll create heartfelt moments as you connect with your baby, capturing that love and anticipation. I've curated a boutique maternity wardrobe, featuring internationally sourced outfits designed to make your bump look amazing. I recommend booking your maternity session around 20 weeks. The best time for these sessions is between 28 and 36 weeks, preferably 30-34 weeks. This timeframe allows you to have a lovely round belly and still be comfortable during the session. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!
WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY MATERNITY SESSION?
For mini maternity sessions, the price is $600. Full sessions have a session fee of $150, which covers my time and expertise. The fee also includes pre-session planning, local travel, image preparation, and a viewing and ordering consultation. Images and products are sold separately. There are no images included with the session fee. Digital image packages start from $600, and printed products start from $300. For more information, please inquire. I'd love to hear from you!
2. WHAT IS THE INVESTMENT?
I'm always up for an adventure, but personally, I love maternity sessions at the beautiful beaches we have in North Canterbury. They are truly magical, especially at sunset.
3. WHERE ARE SESSIONS HELD?
All my outdoor sessions are held at sunrise or sunset. These times provide lovely soft golden light, which creates beautiful and flattering images.
4. What time of day are maternity sessions held?
Absolutely! I have a small, stunning boutique collection of dresses, skirts, and tops designed specifically for showing off your beautiful bump. They will make you feel amazing. If you're interested in wearing one of my outfits, please reach out to discuss the options. Your comfort and confidence are important to me, whether it's in your own clothes or in one of my outfits.
5. Do you have any maternity dresses we can wear?
Dresses provide lovely movement in the natural environment. In terms of colour, earthy tones, pastels, and neutral colours look great and textures add some interest. Please try to avoid a lot of black and strong patterns. If we are photographing at the beach, I always suggest bare feet.
6. I want to wear my own Maternity outfit. What advice do you have?
After our photo session, I'll spend many hours carefully selecting and editing the best portraits for you. Within 4 weeks, I'll reach out to you to schedule a relaxed viewing and ordering appointment. You'll get to see all the stunning images on a big 65-inch screen at my home studio in Amberley. I'll be there to help you choose the ones you absolutely love. I have special software that makes the selection process easier, and I'll provide my advice and expertise to help you decide. 7. When and how do we get to see our photos?
No worries! I've worked with many people who have felt the same way. I'll give you gentle prompts and guide you into flattering poses and lighting, so you'll look and feel your best.
8. What if I feel shy or awkward in front of the camera?
Absolutely! Including your family in your maternity photos is a wonderful idea. We can schedule a special family maternity session where we'll capture those precious moments together. I'll also dedicate time to capture beautiful individual portraits of just you.
9. Can my family be included in the photos?
No worries! If we have howling wind or rain, we'll reschedule our session. I'll always reach out to you the day before or the day of our session to confirm. Outdoor photography is always exciting because it's never the same, right?
10. What happens if the weather doesn't cooperate on the day of our session?
Booking is super easy. Just send me an inquiry, and I'll guide you through the rest of the process. I'll send you all the pricing details and more information about the amazing experience. If you decide to proceed, we'll move forward with an online questionnaire, contract, and session fee payment. Once that's done, your session will be secured and we'll be all set to create some incredible memories together!
